Re imagined Maple Leaf Tavern Opens

There is a sense of history when you walk into the Maple Leaf Tavern. It has been serving east of Yonge Torontonians since the 40’s. Now, redesigned, reimagined, reinvented, there is new life. It has a vibe you have to experience yourself and to go with it, amazing talent in the kitchen to support. Cue chefs Jesse Vallins, formerly of The Saint Tavern, Binh An Nguyen and Jonny O’Callaghan.

One highlight you have to experience is the Spanish press they use to cook meats under an open flame. A metal tray is brought closer and further away from the heat to regulate temperature. It is situated near the back corner which boasts a kitchen side seat. I would opt to eat there when available.

If you are in the Gerrard East area, you now have an enticing option to indulge. Even if you are not in the area, it is worth the trek out of your comfort zone.
