Sake Dinner At Blowfish Toronto

When I heard President of Niigata, Japan’s oldest brewery, Yoshinogawa, was coming back to Toronto I was excited.  I was fortunate enough to be in his company last year at Ki and would recommend to anyone.  He will be at Blowfish, Bay Street May 9, 2012.  Check the link below and the picture at the end of the post for details. My experience occurred in September 2011, at Ki Modern Japanese. I attended a sake and food pairing dinner with the Koji Kawakami, the President of Yoshinogawa!  The Ki kitchen created wonderful dishes, set in an intimate environment to pair with different sake from the Yoshinogawa portfolio.  There was only supposed to be 5 courses but 6 came, which is always nice.  The 20 attendees all got to talk one on one with Koji Kawakami (via an interpreter), discussing everything from beginners topics to advanced questions to market and export stats.  This was a perfect event for those who are curious about sake, love sake or just love new and interesting experiences.  Check him out at Blowfish May 9, 2012.

I only have one usable mobile pic of the food.  You can find both Ki and Blowfish at the Kampai Toronto Sake Festival May 31, 2012, serving their food to attendees sampling 100 + different types of sake.
