Seedlip – Non-Alcoholic Spirit?

The trend of non-alcoholic cocktails is on the rise and out of the UK comes the worlds first non-alcoholic spirit Seedlip.

But why you may ask? Why not just make a drink without alcohol and all the other ingredients? Well, cocktails are crafted with the specific spirit that lends the best flavour and desired effect. When you remove the base it is usually replaced with sparkling, soda water or juice. What Seedlip does is provide a base for those seeking a non-alcoholic alternative.

It is a distilled beverage, that aims to provide a sophisticated alternative for the those looking for what to drink when not drinking. Flavour profile for the newest release, Seedlip 42 is “a celebration of the Orange; an adult, citrus blend of copper-pot distillates including Bitter Orange, Mandarin, Blood Orange, Lemongrass, Ginger & Lemon. “

It was confusing at first to hear the words non-alcoholic spirit, but after speaking with mixologists about its potential applications, it makes a lot of sense. In the same way essential oils are distilled, Seedlip is distilled to extract certain flavour profiles to be used as a base for the mocktail/non-alcoholic cocktail market.

Seedlip can already be found at these premium locations.
